Update: free school meals
By [email protected]
Exciting news! The petition to David Cameron to make sure that all children in poverty get free school meals is getting bigger and bigger.
Yesterday, some pupils from Conisborough College, along with people from 38 Degrees and The Children Society went to 10 Downing Street. We handed in the petition, which over 90,000 of us signed, to the Prime Minister, David Cameron.
The introduction of the new benefits system – universal credit – means the government could easily decide to extend free school meals to all children living in poverty. Over the next few weeks we’ll need to keep up the pressure on David Cameron. Can you help grow the petition by asking your friends and family to sign? All they need to do is click here.
