Petition hand in at David Cameron’s office!
By India Thorogood
38 Degrees member Dave Pearce:
About 30 people opposed to the Government’s proposed Gagging Law, gathered at David Cameron’s Witney office to hand in a 250,000 strong petition organised by 38 Degrees.
The proposed Gagging Law is currently being debated in Parliament. Many people fear that it will curtail Freedom of Speech and damage our democracy. Parts of the proposed law will prevent many charities and other organisations from campaigning.
Councillor David Snow is proposing a motion against the gagging law at the next West Oxfordshire District council meeting. The vote will take place on 22 January at 2pm, held at the Council Offices, Woodgreen, Witney, OX28 1NB – if you’d like to go along and support the motion!
