Brexit and our Environment
By 38 Degrees team
Right now big business lobbyists are eyeing up our environment – looking to use Brexit to scrap protections for wildlife and our countryside.
But together we can stop them. You can join thousands of other 38 Degrees members and make a truly people-powered plan. Together we can make sure Brexit doesn’t mean chemical companies or fracking corporations are allowed to pump out more pollution.
Here’s the first question to get you started:
Leaving Europe will mean a lot of EU environmental laws no longer apply to the UK. That could be bad news for Britain’s wildlife, our countryside, our rivers and beaches. But it’s also a chance for us to demand bold new action to protect nature for future generations.
Big polluting business interests will have their plans for Brexit – so it’s only fair we have ours! This is already one of the largest crowd-sourced manifestos ever put together, and it’s about to get even bigger.
So far we’ve cast over 378,100 thousand votes to decide our shared demands for how Brexit can best work for all of us: covering our NHS, economy, trade, rights and immigration. Now let’s decide what Brexit should mean for wildlife, the environment, and farming.
