Protect Our NHS in 2017

By Nicole G

Let me be upfront with you: this post is going to ask you for a donation. Forgive me, but I have to ask, because the first few months of 2017 could make or break our NHS.

The government has starved the NHS of funding. There are plans to shut hospitals and GP waits are skyrocketing. Doctors and nurses are crying out for help – yet time after time the government ignores them.

We’re not going to let the NHS go down without a fight. We’re raring to go, ready to bring together the biggest, strongest group of people to make 2017 the year we get the NHS the money it needs to survive. But to do that, we need 7,000 new regular donors to fund a huge effort – and it would be a massive help if you could be one of them.

So, how about it? Will you be one of the first people to stand up to protect our NHS in 2017? You can set up a regular donation in about two minutes:

Please can you help?

I’LL CHIP IN £2 A WEEK

I’LL CHIP IN £3 A WEEK

I’LL CHIP IN £5 A WEEK

ANOTHER AMOUNT

Jeremy Hunt, the politician in charge of our NHS, should be doing everything he can to get our NHS more funding. He should be shouting from the rooftops, demanding our NHS gets a fair hearing. But we know he’s not.

So we need to take this into our own hands. We need to make sure every politician, journalist, doctor and nurse in the country knows it: we won’t stop until the NHS has enough money to give world-class care to everyone. That means getting a plan together for reports, stunts, investigations, protests and campaigns to make sure politicians hear our message. Every. Single. Week.

Maybe you feel like you’re just one person and you need deeper pockets to make a big difference. But the beauty of 38 Degrees is when we all chip in a bit together, we don’t need anything else but each other to do amazing things.

This time next year, you’ll want to look back on this moment as someone who took part in the campaign to stand up for the NHS – not look back in regret at what could have been.
