NHS crisis tracker: Sources
By Amy Lockwood
The NHS crisis tracker shows you:
- The % of patients in your area who are waiting more than four hours to be seen in A&E. The official government target is a maximum of 5%.This figure has been calculated based on the NHS area your postcode is in. There are 44 NHS areas in England called ‘footprints’ which are the basis for ‘Sustainability and Transformation plans’. These are the plans by which your local NHS is having to have big changes, cuts and closures in order to plug the funding gap.
You can find out which NHS area (footprint) you live in here.
You can see the spreadsheet for every NHS area’s (footprint) latest A&E figures here.
- The funding gap for the NHS in your area. This figure has also been calculated based on the NHS ‘footprint’ your postcode is in. This is the funding gap your NHS area will have by 2020.
The research for the investigation was completed throughout July-December 2016. As more details come in, the 38 Degrees office team will update the details as quickly as possible.
- Personal experiences of people in your area, and how many people have signed the petition for more funding.
You can view and sign the petition here. Please email us at emailtheteam@38degrees.org.uk with the subject line ‘NHS crisis tracker’ if you’d like more information.
