The true spirit of Manchester

The attack in Manchester last night has shaken the country, but the people of Manchester responded to the terrible tragedy with humanity and kindness. Here are some examples:

There was an immediate outpouring of Manchester residents offering rooms in their houses to total strangers. The hashtag #roomsformanchester was soon trending on Twitter with hotels also offering free rooms.

NHS nurses

NHS staff attending a conference in Manchester rushed into the streets to help the victims of the attack.

Free taxi rides

As well as local residents and Manchester taxi drivers offering free lifts to anybody that was stranded, it was reported that taxi drivers from Liverpool drove to Manchester to help as well.

The spirit of Manchester

Residents who lived near the concert venue opened their doors to strangers and invited people in to charge their phone and have a cup of tea.
