Projecting a bold message across Liverpool
By 38 Degrees team
The 38 Degrees community just turbo-charged our campaign for a tax on the ultra-rich to support struggling families, by projecting our message onto iconic buildings in Liverpool during the Labour Party conference.
Why? To remind the Government that – with millions of people at risk of falling through the cracks this winter and the ultra-rich hoarding eye-watering wealth – they need to take urgent action.
Thanks to donations from the 38 Degrees community, we projected a message that was impossible to ignore. But with millions losing their winter fuel allowance and more than one in five people living in poverty, we can’t afford to stop fighting.
We’ve been building massive pressure with this campaign: 367,000 of us are calling to scrap winter fuel allowance cuts, 98,000 are demanding support for struggling families and 91,000 are calling for a tax on the ultra-rich to fund our NHS. We’re certainly getting attention.
The Government’s October budget is a crucial time to push this campaign towards a win, and we’ve got lots of exciting plans. But there’s still time to be a part of it: stunts like this are funded by people across the country chipping in what they can, with every single donation helping to fight for fairness this winter.
If you want to chip in to support more bold tactics, you can do so here.
