June campaign wins
By 38 Degrees team
38 Degrees supporters have been smashing it lately. Here’s how individuals’ actions, donations, and commitment have added up to make change happen in the last month.
Fighting against disability benefit cuts
The moment the Government announced plans to slash benefits for sick and disabled people, our community leapt into action. They’ve been feeling the heat, offering concessions and facing huge rebellions from MPs. We won’t stop fighting until everyone gets the support they need.
What 38 Degrees supporters did:
- Got behind a massive petition demanding the Government drop these cruel cuts to kick off the campaign
- Chipped in for massive stunts, like our ad van on the day of the vote, and our headline-stealing projections in Keir Starmer and Rachel Reeves’ constituencies
- Emailed MPs to tell them how they wanted them to vote
- Got our campaign demands into the top headlines of the major news outlets: Channel 4, BBC, ITV, 5, LBC, and more!

Working round the clock for a strong NHS 10-year plan
We’re throwing everything we’ve got at the Government to push them to make the NHS 10-year plan as strong as it can be to meet the needs of all of us who rely on it.
What 38 Degrees supporters did:
- Signed up to the NHS Accountability Team – keeping the pressure on the Government to deliver for our NHS
- Helped create the People’s Priorities for our NHS, sharing how they feel about the NHS so we could work with a top health expert to hold the Government to account now and into the future.
- Signed up to back those People’s Priorities in our thousands!
- Voted on the best NHS merch to show the Government we’re watching and then ordered 38 Degrees NHS Birthday tote bags to showcase support
- Chipped in to make our incredible Angel of the North stunt happen – just days before the plan was revealed
- And much more to come!

Getting the Royals to back down
Last week the Royals announced they’re going to lower rents for some charities using their land. And reports say this is in large part due to the scrutiny and pressure they got from 38 Degrees supporters, after it was revealed how much they charge charities and public services like the NHS – all without paying tax. It’s not a full win, but it shows just how much we can do when we put the pressure on!
What 38 Degrees supporters did:
- 154,992 of us signed the huge petition calling on the Royal Family to do the right thing
- Thousands of us sent Christmas Cards to King Charles last December, appealing to him to stop charging these vital services – and voluntarily start to pay corporation tax on his profits

And here are some more big moments…
- We won our campaign to stop employers from being able to silence workers with NDAs if they’re harassed or discriminated at work! 93,576 of us signed the powerful petition, set up by Louise Haigh MP, to ban this harmful behaviour, and just today the Government announced a ban would be put in place.
- 42,412 of us supported Jackie’s campaign to stop 24-hour slots venues – we helped her deliver it to Number 10 and made national news. Jackie set up the campaign after her mum passed away from terminal cancer late last year – her mother was a gambling addict who was taken advantage of by these 24 hour slot venues. We’ll keep standing by Jackie until we win together.
- After 71,569 of us backed Stella Creasy MP’s petition to decriminalise abortion, MPs have voted to change abortion laws so women in England and Wales can’t be prosecuted for ending a pregnancy. After watching Trump’s crackdown on abortion rights in the US, our community jumped into action. And while we didn’t win the exact change 38 Degrees supporters were pushing for, it was a strong step in the right direction.
- When Rachel Reeves announced the Government’s spending review, we quickly ran a voter panel to see what people really thought. Lots welcomed what was said on the NHS and housing – but there was real doubt about whether the Government would actually deliver. That gives us what we need to keep the pressure up where it matters.
- None of this would be possible without 38 Degrees supporters – whether that’s signing petitions, emailing MPs, chipping in, or simply spreading the word.
There’s still so much more to do, but together we can keep pushing for the change we all want to see.
