Most people in the UK believe in fairness, decency and looking out for one another. But online, the loudest and most divisive voices often dominate. We’re building a movement of volunteers to help change that.

We’re looking for people to use their own social media to show up in comment sections, neighbourhood groups and feeds with positive, grounded and hopeful perspectives – joining conversations on key issues affecting our democracy and communities.

This isn’t about escalating arguments. It’s about steady participation so online spaces better reflect the values most of us share: compassion, community and hope.

What does this look like?

• Share content in your own words, on your own social channels – helping reach people who might not otherwise hear this message.
• Step in early when misinformation starts spreading using simple briefs to “pre-bunk” myths.
• Help shift what people see online – not by going viral, but by hundreds of real, positive people consistently showing up.

You don’t need any experience to join us – all volunteers will receive:

• Practical training and clear guidance
• Briefs and resources tailored to key issues and moments
• Ongoing support from the 38 Degrees team
• A community of fellow volunteers to share ideas and encouragement!
