St Ives NHS Day of Action

By Kate Treleaven

Way to go people power in Penzance! A great turn out with 18 members taking to the streets and tremendous public involvement from all ages!

This is what Michelle Brown, a member of the 38 Degrees St Ives local group, had to say about the NHS Day of Action in Penzance on Saturday 28 February. Armed with clipboards, placards, balloons and a loud hailer, the St. Ives group joined forces with 11,000 fellow 38 Degrees members across the country in a nationwide NHS Day of Action.

Their mission: to add as many names as possible to a petition calling on all Prospective Parliamentary Candidates to do everything they can to protect the NHS.

NHS Penzance #1

“In addition to collecting over 700 signatures in two hours, several folk took petitions away to continue themselves and we attracted some new members too. Apathy is on the run in the far South West, let’s chase it out of these islands for good!” said Michelle.

If you’d like to join the campaign to Save Our NHS, here’s how you can get involved:

* Add your name to the petition here and share with your friends and family
* Log on to the 38 Degrees election hub to connect with local 38 Degrees members and find out about future events in your area
