38 Degrees Pop-Up Shop to Open in Penzance
By Kate Treleaven
38 Degrees members in West Cornwall are celebrating the launch of a pop-up shop in Penzance. The shop, at No. 63 Causewayhead, will serve as both a handy meeting place for 38 Degrees members as well as an information hub for members of the public who wish to learn more about the issues 38 Degrees is campaigning on this election.
The shop officially opens its doors on Monday 13 April at 10.00am and a ‘shop-warming’ celebration will take place in the evening from 6.00pm. All welcome.
The shop will be open four mornings a week at first, with opening hours increasing as we near the election. Local members will be onhand to help people access information on 38 Degrees’ campaigns to keep the NHS public, stop the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) and force a Government crackdown on the legal tax loopholes which cost the UK up to £700 million a year.
Visitors to the shop can take part in a quick online quiz to help find the political party closest to their views and anyone not yet registered to vote will be able to get help to ensure they’re added to the electoral roll in time for the election. If the weather’s fine, passers-by can take a seat outside and enjoy a cuppa while they read up on / chat about the issues.
If you can spare a few hours a week and would like to help out in the shop, please email kate.t@38degrees.org.uk
