Mayfair Loophole: should we campaign?

38 Degrees members were asked to vote on whether to launch a campaign against a dodgy tax loophole. The loophole – dubbed the Mayfair Loophole – is a government has rubber-stamped a legal loophole that allows millionaire finance bosses to pay a lower rate of tax than many nurses and teachers. It’s government-sponsored tax avoidance, and it’s losing us up to £700 million a year.
It’s no surprise then, that of over 245,000 of us that voted, 98% of us voted yes to campaigning on this issue. Plus, almost 6000 of us donated to fund the campaign – amazing stuff. Now watch this space!
