I’m Barbara, a member of 38 Degrees and Frack Free Lancashire. We’re a group of residents who’ve spent 18 months fighting plans to turn where we live into a gas field. I wanted to get in touch to say a massive thank you.

In just a few days 38 Degrees members have chipped in over £30,000 to our legal fund. And you’ve given us much more than money, you’ve given us hope.

Thanks to your support, we’re commissioning experts right now. We’ve got just under a month to pull together what’s called a ‘statement of case’. Then our experts will collect all the evidence we need to take on Cuadrilla in the public inquiry in February.   

I can’t tell you what it’s been like fighting Cuadrilla, an opponent with bottomless pockets and support from Westminster. But your donations have shown we’re not alone. That’s priceless.

38 Degrees is all about people power, and that’s what’s been so great about this campaign. A movement of ordinary people, coming together to fight an entire industry. Thanks to you, we now have the money to prepare the strongest possible case for the appeal. An enormous relief, and a massive step forward.
