Stop Trump’s Golf Course
By Moon Saker
Donald Trump wants to dump another one of his golf courses on an unspoilt stretch of Scottish coast. His organisation want to build in Menie, Aberdeenshire but locals, environment bodies and 10,000 members of 38 Degrees are saying “no”.
Aberdeenshire Council have the power to stop the plans, or wave them through. Right now they’re weighing up what to do.
A huge petition, signed by thousands of us, can persuade Aberdeenshire Council to stop Trump’s plans from riding roughshod over more of Scotland’s environment.
10,000 of us have already signed the petition. Will you take 30 seconds to add your name?
When Trump built his first course, there were promises of a jobs bonanza and pledges to protect our precious landscapes. Those promises were broken.
The landscapes and coastlines of Scotland are world famous, and deserve to be protected – especially from the likes of Donald Trump. Already environmental experts are condemning the plans. The Scottish environment agency are worried about sewage and pollution. And Scottish Natural Heritage are unhappy about the course’s location.
The only thing missing is a huge wave of public outrage telling Aberdeenshire Council to stop the plans. That’s where we come in. When over 80,000 of us told Robert Gordon University to strip Donald Trump of an honorary degree, they listened and we won. We know that when 38 Degrees members come together, we can stand up to Trump.
If you think nobody should be allowed to wreck Scotland’s unique beauty – especially the likes of Donald Trump – then sign the petition to Aberdeenshire Council to stop his new golf course.
