Update: Universal Credit
By Ruby Earle
This is great news! The government has delayed their controversial plans to move 3 million more people onto Universal Credit.
Fewer families will now be forced onto the streets and into food banks this winter. Together, thousands of us emailed our MPs, sent tweets and facebook messages to the minister in charge, and signed a huge petition demanding the government delay the roll out.
The pressure is paying off. But the government still plans to roll out Universal Credit to millions of people in the future. We need to make sure no family is left worse off because of Universal Credit.
