April campaign wins

By 38 Degrees team

Where has the time gone? With so much going on, it’s important to take a breath and reflect on the great things we’ve achieved together.

So here’s a moment to do just that: celebrate all the good we’ve done as a community. It’s a great reminder that change is possible if enough of us come together to push for it!

Our message to Musk

We kicked off April with a bang, lighting up some of London’s most iconic landmarks with a message that the Government couldn’t ignore. From the Houses of Parliament to Tower Bridge, we made it clear to those in power that we will NOT let billionaires like Elon Musk buy our democracy.

Making a media splash!

Getting our campaigns into the media is so important when it comes to making change happen. It forces politicians to sit up and take notice.
Here’s just a snapshot of the many headlines we got across April.

Our dentistry campaign – including a powerful call to action from our CEO Matthew McGregor – featured in the Evening Standard:

Our benefit cuts campaign was reported by The Independent:

Our child poverty research made it into The Mirror:

A win for local bus campaigners!

When local bus provider Stagecoach cut buses between Dawlish and Exeter it had a huge impact on commuters, schoolchildren and people who relied on local buses to get around.

So one local councillor leapt into action and set up a petition calling on Stagecoach to restore buses on this route. More than 1,000 people signed, and last week she confirmed bus bosses would be bringing more buses back! Here’s what she said:

“From 20th April 2025, Stagecoach will be running three buses an hour on the number 2 bus route, and will include a more direct route too. Success at last, campaigning works!”

Making headlines, sparking conversations online, creating hard-hitting stunts, winning local victories in our communities – it’s all driven by the passion and actions of people coming together. BIG congratulations to everyone involved in these wins.
